Wherever you are whether it’s an emergency or not; home, traveling or at work, our experienced support team are there to help with advice and assistance. Our programs cover:

Whether it is an emergency or a much needed helping hand, we have experienced professionals available 24 hours a day.

EMERGENCY & ACCIDENT ASSISTANCE

In the event of a motor vehicle accident, or a breakdown, then under our Accident Care Program, NHS will provide a 24/7 telephone helpline service to assist, as required, with advice and assistance on:

  • Your obligations at the scene of an accident
  • Locating a local vehicle recovery operator to attend the accident scene
  • Relaying any important messages to your family, friends or business associates
  • Lodging claims
  • Clean-up of the accident scene

In an emergency, the helpline can assist you in locating accommodation for the night or organising travel home, medical assistance and trauma counseling.

MEDICAL & CARE HELPLINES

(24 hours Support)
For Members who have a medical emergency, require some level of medical assistance or maybe are involved in an accident, our unique service includes the following elements:

(a) Medical Assistance
Users call the contact centre where our team or, if required, a Registered Nurse, provides initial triage - we sort, counsel and advise the member using a structured protocol and direct the member to the most appropriate level of care needed for their condition.

(b) 24 hour Doctor / Medical Referral
Where in the opinion of the medical team the member requires further medical attention, the user will be referred to their nearest medical facility in their area.

(c) Message Relay and Advisory (Includes Sickness and Absenteeism)
Users who are inconvenienced may ask the service centre to relay messages on their behalf to colleagues, family, friends or associates. Should the member require medical treatment, the service team will relay the member’s location to family, friends or associates on request.

(d) Repatriation
If you are stranded at the time of the incident/accident we will arrange to get you home. In the event arrangements cannot be made immediately we will arrange temporary accommodation until transportation is available to get you home. (Travel etc costs are not included)

(e)Vehicle Recovery Assistance
Where users find after an accident they need vehicle recovery assistance, help is on hand 24*7. Our experienced service team will make prompt arrangements to assist. (Recovery costs are not included)

(f) Trauma Counselling
We have professional counsellors available as part of the team. If required, we will have a counsellor available to provide over the phone trauma counselling to you or your immediate family at the accident until help arrives.
Following the accident you are entitled to two free counselling sessions to assist you put the memory of the accident behind you. This service is available to you and your immediate family.

HOME ASSISTANCE

In the event of an emergency, our Home Emergency Assistance is open 24/7 to assist with:

  • Providing referrals to tradespeople, gardeners, repairers, babysitters and caterers
  • Finding any home-related service
  • Sourcing household items to rent or buy
  • Assisting with services when moving home – accommodation, rentals, removals

We can arrange for a qualified tradesperson to call and attend to the described emergency. The advice and referral service is free however you will be required to pay for the tradesperson’s time (call out fee, hourly rates and materials).
